On March 4, together with Seagate, Hanbang introduced the newest R&D result of Hanbang – PC-DVR HDD dormancy technology at Park Plaza Beijing Science Park.

In 2007, the HB18 series new product of Hanbang Technology, based on the originated single-chip-8-way technology, had won universal recognition of the industry 3 months since released. The HB18 series product of Hanbang Technology is the first one that passed the Microsoft Certification for WHQL in 2007, and it is the first product in DVR industry that passes the certification. The digital signatures of the product drivers indicate the drivers have passed the Windows compatibility and stability test, meanwhile the compatibility and stability while the product in long time service have been fully tested and ensured, which is very important to clients of security field.

While the HB18 series productwinning the universal recognition of the industry, Hanbang Technology begins to resolve the system power consumption problem with respect to application of DVR which has troubled the industry. Until then, since DVR under PC mode adopts Windows operation system and Windows usually controls the dormancy of HDD which can not be controlled by DVR system directly, the HDD dormancy technology was not adopted on the Windows platform.

After arduous research, Hanbang Technology finally develops the HDD dormancy technology on the Windows platform, which  promotes the application of PC-DVR. The adoption of HDD dormancy technology will greatly reduce the system power consumption and prolong the service life of the hard disk, especially for the system with more than 4 hard disks. This technology has been successfully used on the HB18 series product. The HDD dormancy technology on Windows platform provided by Hanbang Technology will be given to HB18 series product users for free.
